How to make easy Skeleton Cookies

Spooky and Scary are the words your kids will use to describe these easy skeleton cookies, adorable and delicious are the words your friends will use.

You can get a batch of these delicious and cute skeleton cookies done in no time, and I am going to give you all the details for how to decorate them, one of the greatest parts of these cookies is that you will only need two colors! It doesn’t get much easier than that!

These are great sugar cookies to decorate for a Halloween party, just put them in cellophane bags with a bow alone or with other Halloween cookies and you’re good to go. I’m sure you can also come up with plenty of other cookies to turn this cutter into, lots of fun ideas to make with these.

SKELETON DECORATED COOKIE

YOU WILL NEED:

  • Cut-out sugar cookie dough
  • Royal icing
  • Icing colors – I use Americolor brand

CUTTERS: GINGERBREAD MAN CUTTER FROM WILTON

TOOLS AND TIPS:
Tips #2 or #2.5
Couplers
Icing bags
Parchment paper
Cookie sheet
Toothpick or scribe

COLORS YOU WILL NEED:
Black Icing – outline and flood
White – Outline Icing

OUTLINE AND FLOODING

Step 1: Outline the cookie with black piping icing

Step 2: Fill the cookie with black flood icing

Stop and allow your cookie to dry in front of a fan for 1-2 hours before flooding the next section.

DETAILS

Step 3: Using white piping icing outline the “bones” of the skeleton!

Step 4: Using a black edible marker make the eyes, nose, and mouth of the skeleton!
