HOW TO MAKE CUTE GINGERBREAD DECORATED COOKIES

You can make adorable Gingerbread cookies out of cut-out sugar cookies, they look just like gingerbread. Cute little sugary details with icing and peppermint candies. You will have a gingerbread house and the cutest little gingerbread man you ever saw, with a candy cane when you’re all done. This little trio brings fun and whimsical Christmas decorations to life with just a few colors and a lot of fun details.

CUTTERS: MERRY AND BRIGHT GINGERBREAD MAN, CANDY CANE AND GINGERBREAD HOUSE

COLORS YOU WILL NEED:
White – outline and flood
Mint/lime green – outline and flood
Black – outline icing
Brown – outline icing
Red – outline only
Pink – outline only

Optional:
Black edible marker
Red airbrush color – Cookie Countess
Candy Cane Stencil – Cookie Countess
Cookie Countess Airbrush machine

GINGERBREAD MAN

OUTLINE and FLOODING

Step 1: Outline the entire gingerbread man in brown piping icing.

Step 2: Fill in the outline gingerbread man with brown flood icing.

Stop and allow your cookie to dry in front of a fan for 30 minutes before flooding the next section.

DETAIL

Step 3: Using white piping icing add squiggles on his head, hands and feet.  Add two eyes with black piping icing.  Add just a little white dot with white piping.  Add checks using pink outline icing.  Add buttons with red and green piping icing.  

Step 4:  Use a black edible marker for a smile 

CANDY CANE COOKIE

OUTLINE and FLOODING

Step 1: Outline the entire cookie with white piping icing.

Step 2: Using white flood icing to fill in the candy cane.

Stop and allow your cookie to dry in front of a fan for 1-2 hours before moving on to the next section.

Step 3: Use the candy cane stencil and red airbrush color to make your stripes on your candy cane.  

DETAILS

Step 4: Outline a bow with lime green piping icing.  

Step 5: Fill in the tails of the bow with lime green flood icing.  

Stop and allow your cookies to dry in front of a fan for 10-20 minutes before flooding the rest of the bow.  

Step 6: Fill in the rest of the bow with lime green flood icing.  Finally add the middle round dot on the bow with lime green piping icing.  

GINGERBREAD HOUSE COOKIE

OUTLINE and FLOODING

Step 1: Outline the bottom half of the gingerbread house making sure to add a whimsical squiggle that will mimic icing on the roof.

Step 2: Fill the outline using brown flood icing.

Stop and allow your cookie to dry in front of a fan for 1-2 hours before moving on to the details.

Step 3:  Outline the roof in white piping icing.  Gently add a colorful sprinkle mix to the roof.  

Step 4:  Using red piping icing make a round circle above the heart-opening.  Immediately after filling in the circle with red flood icing add a pink swirl with pink piping icing.  

Step 5:  Make two dots for lollipops with pink piping icing.  Use red piping icing add a swirl in the middle.  

Step 6:  With white piping, icing add a stick to each side.  Pipe a beadboard around the heart-opening.  Finally, add a red stripe and bow on the lollipops.  

Now you can make your own set of Gingerbread Christmas Cookies, that look just like gingerbread, but taste like delicious iced sugar cookies! This is one of my favorite sets to do for the kids for Christmas, and they are very popular for those buying cookies for the holidays, so get your cutters and make your own set!
