If you feel like you’re constantly chasing orders and barely keeping up, this one’s for you.
I know that feeling all too well—the late nights, the back-to-back custom orders, the burnout that creeps in even when you’re doing something you love.
When I first started my cookie business, I thought the only way to grow was to take on more custom orders. So I did. I said yes to everything. And I ran myself straight into the ground.
But everything changed when I realized I didn’t need more orders—I just needed to get smarter about how I used the sets I was already designing.
So today I want to show you exactly how I started making more money with less work using just one cookie set—and how you can, too.
1. Teach a Cookie Class Using That Set 🍪🎓
Instead of using your designs once and shelving them forever, turn them into teaching tools!
When I first started teaching classes, I was nervous. I thought I wasn’t “good enough.” I worried I’d lose customers if I taught them my techniques.
Spoiler: The opposite happened.
Teaching classes not only reignited my creativity—it became one of my most profitable income streams. You’re prepping once, and your students are the ones decorating. You get to interact, build community, and have fun without staying up until 2 AM finishing orders.
Whether you teach online or in person, cookie classes are a powerful way to grow without burning out.
2. Sell Seasonal or Holiday Pre-Order Boxes 🎁🎄
If you’ve already designed a cute holiday set, why not offer it as a grab-and-go gift box?
These sets are perfect for:
- Teacher gifts
- Appreciation gifts
- Holiday parties
- Last-minute shoppers who want something adorable and easy
The best part? You can batch them. You’re not customizing names or adding extra design work. You’re making the same set multiple times—and streamlining your time and energy in the process.
Add urgency by setting clear order deadlines and promoting them as limited-edition!
3. Offer DIY Cookie Decorating Kits 🎨👩🍳
DIY kits are a customer favorite—especially around the holidays.
They’re fun. They’re interactive. And they save your customer the mess and time of making everything from scratch.
All you have to do is prep the cookies, bag the icing, and include some simple instructions. It’s a low-effort, high-reward way to reuse a cookie set and provide something families LOVE doing together.
You can sell these for:
- Birthday parties
- Classrooms
- Holiday weekends
- Rainy day activities
Once I started offering DIY kits, I never looked back—and I definitely never worried about last-minute order cancellations again.
You don’t need to constantly reinvent the wheel.
You don’t need to say yes to every order.
You just need to get smarter about how you use the skills (and sets!) you already have.
These three ideas—classes, pre-order boxes, and DIY kits—helped me rebuild my business into something profitable and sustainable.
And now I want to help you do the same.
