How to make Thanksgiving Turkey Cookies

Making the cutest Thanksgiving sugar cookies is so easy when you make these adorable Thanksgiving Turkey Cookies. Your guests and family will be giggling over the cuteness and combination of fall and thanksgiving themes in this little set of mini cookies.

TURKEY PILGRIM AND TURKEY INDIAN COOKIE

CUTTERS: So Classic THANKFUL Turkey Cutters from Simply Renee Sweets

COLORS YOU WILL NEED:
Black Icing – outline and flood icing
Brown Icing – outline and flood icing
Green – outline and flood icing
Yellow – 20-second icing
Red- 20-sec icing
Orange – 20-sec icing

Optional – Black Edible Marker

OUTLINE AND FLOODING

  • Step 1: Outline the hat of the turkey
  • Step 2: Fill the outlined hat with black flood icing.
  • Stop and allow your cookie to dry in front of a fan for 30-40 minutes before moving to the next section.
  • Step 3: Outline the middle part of the hat with green piping icing. Outline the face of the turkey in brown piping icing.
  • Step 4: Fill the middle of the hat with green flood icing. Fill the turkey face with brown flood icing.
  • Stop and allow you cookie to dry in front of a fan for 20-30 minutes before adding details in the next section.
  • DETAILS
  • Step 5: Add a square for the buckle on the pilgrim hat. Add a red gobbler on the turkey
  • Step 6: Add the left eye with black piping icing and the draw the right eye on with the black edible marker. Make a triangle for the nose of turkey.

  • Step 2: Fill the outlined turkey with brown flood icing.
  • Stop and allow your cookie to dry in front of a fan for 30-40 minutes before moving to the next section.
  • Step 3: Outline the outside feather in green piping icing. Using the ivory piping icing outline the headband on the turkey. Add the left eye with black piping icing. Draw the right eye with black edible marker. Add the gobbler with red 20 second icing.
  • Step 4: Outline the other feather with yellow piping icing. Add the orange nose with 20 second icing
  • Stop and allow you cookie to dry in front of a fan for 20-30 minutes before adding details in the next section.

  • Step 5: Add the details on the ivory headband. Add a line to the middle of the feathers to add details to the cookie
